- Earth Rotates around its axis once a day and Revolves around the Sun once each year
2

Q
Expanding Universe
A
Hubble Discovered
- All galaxies outside our Local Group are moving away from us
- The more distance the galaxy, the faster it is racing away
- Therefore, we live in an expanding universe
- This is like a loaf of raisin bread with the “local raisin” seeing all other raisins moving away
5
Q
Star’s “Movement”
A
-Earth rotates from west to east, so stars appear to circle from east to west
-Stars near the north celestial pole are circumpolar and never set
-We cannot see stars near the south celestial pole
-All other stars (and sun, moon, planets) rise in east and set in west
