Definition
Blockage to a line.
Area of the heart that dies.

Signs
Chest pain.
Shortness of breath.
Nausea / Vomiting.
Radiating pain to the arm / face, jaw, left shoulder.
Sudden onset of weakness.
Levine sign - put fist in your chest and grab left shoulder.

Nitro
Aspirin

Vasodilator
Causes low blood pressure.
Has to have above 100 blood pressure.
Cannot give to someone with ED meds.
Cannot give to someone with a headache.
Aspirin
Antiplatelet med - makes blood vessels slippery so they don’t stick together.
Baby Aspirin - 81 mg
Bayer Aspirin - 325 mg
Baby Aspirin is better because it’s absorbed better.
Both are chewed, not swallowed. (Absorbed buccally).

Hemorrhage - bleeding in the brain.
Ischemic - clot in your brain (occlusive stroke).
TIA - Transient Ischemic Attack - temporary or mini stroke.

Hypertension
Definition
High blood pressure.
Can cause chest pressure.
Gradual chest pressure.

Dizziness
Gradual chest pain.
Headache.
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
Blurred vision.
Nausea / vomiting.
140/90 or greater blood pressure.

Definition
Hypertension in Pregnancy.

Definition
Causes the blood vessels to dilate and BP to drop.
Causes the tissues lining the respiratory system to swell.

Wheezes

Treatment
EPI
Blood vessel constriction to raise BP.
Bronchodilation.
Stridor
Hi pitched, harsh, wheezing.
Upper airway.
Causes: Foreign body aspiration, Croup, Anaphylaxis.
Ronchi
Snoring, rattling, low pitched.
Larger passageways.
Causes: Asthma, COPD, Mucus.
Wheezes
High pitched, whistling, sibilant sounds.
Lower airway.
Asthma, bronchospasm, anaphylaxis.
Rales
Rattling, bubbling, popping, rice crispy sound.
Lower airway.
Fluid - filled airway, Pneumonia, CHF.
