Grunting
Sudden low pitched noise on an exhale.
Signals an issue with 1 or both lungs.
Placenta Previa
Placenta completely or partly covers the opening of the uterus.
Abroupto Placentae
Placenta separates from the inner wall of the uterus before birth.
Endometriosis
Painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that line the inside of the uterus grows outside the uterus.
Function of the Uterus
Nourish the developing fetus to birth.
Function of the Placenta
Provides oxygen and nutrients to a growing baby.
Ocytocin
Stimulate uterine contractions in labor and childbirth and to stimulate contractions of breast tissue to aid in lactation after childbirth.
Pitocin
Nature hormone that causes the uterus to contract to induce labor, strengthen contractions during childbirth, control bleeding after childbirth, or to induce an abortion.
Eclampsia
A severe complication of preeclampsia.
High blood pressure results in seizures during pregnancy.
Epidural Hematoma
Occurs between the skull and the outermost layer of the meninges, the dura matter.
Caused by a head injury, usually skull fracture.
Subdural Hematoma
Occurs in the space between the dura matter and the second meningeal layer, arachnoid layer.
Caused by head injury, falling and hitting your head, blow to the head from a car, bike, or sporting accident.
UTI
Discoloration of the urine.
Fever

Dialysis
Procedure to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly.
Meconium
First poop.
Stress during delivery.
Liver problems if ingested by the baby.
Pneumonia if aspirated.
