Coach their breathing
OPA (Adult)
Sizing
Center of the mouth to the angle of the jaw.
Corner of the patient’s mouth to the tip of the earlobe.
OPA (Adult)
Inserting
Tip points to the roof of the mouth.
Slide along the roof until you meet resistance.
Rotate 180 degrees so the tip is pointing down into the pharynx.

Unconscious
No patient airway.

Sizing
Corner of the mouth to the tip of the earlobe.

Insertion
Tongue Depressor
Insert downward.

Nostril to the tip of the earlobe or the angle of the jaw.

Lubricant.
Push the tip of the nose up.
Beveled side toward the base of the nostril.
Advance until the flange is against the nostril.

Thickness of the patient’s little finger.
Measure from the nostril to tragus (cartilage at the front of the ear).

Symptoms
Skin reactions
Low blood pressure.
Constriction of airways.
Weak & Rapid pulse.
Nausea, vomit, diarrhea.
