سورة الذاريات : The wind that scatters

Question 1

۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ‎﴿٣١﴾

Answer 1

He (Ibrahim (a.s.)) said (to The Angels): ‘Then what is your position oh messengers?’

Question 2

قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ ‎﴿٣٢﴾‏

Answer 2

They said (The Angels): ‘We are sent to a guilty people (the people of Sodom)’.

Question 3

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ ‎﴿٣٣﴾‏

Answer 3

So that we may send down upon them stones of clay.

Question 4

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ ‎﴿٣٤﴾‏

Answer 4

Marked by your Lord for the transgressors.

Question 5

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ‎﴿٣٥﴾‏

Answer 5

So We let the believers who were there to come out (from danger).

Question 6

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ‎﴿٣٦﴾‏

Answer 6

But We did not find in it any muslims except one house from amongst the muslims (the prophet Lut (a.s.)).

Question 7

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ ‎﴿٣٧﴾

Answer 7

And We left in this (event) a sign (of detterance) for those who fear the painful punishment.

Question 8

وَفِي مُوسَىٰ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ ‎﴿٣٨﴾

Answer 8

And (We left a similar sign) in (the story of) Musa (a.s.) when We sent him (a.s.) to pharoah with a clear proof.

Question 9

فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ‎﴿٣٩﴾

Answer 9

So he turned away along with his chiefs and said: ‘(Musa a.s is ) a magician or a madman’.

Question 10

فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ‎﴿٤٠﴾

Answer 10

So We seized him (pharoah) and his army and we cast them (pharoah and his army) into the sea as he (pharoah) was of culpable (guilty) behaviour.

Question 11

وَفِي عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ ‎﴿٤١﴾

Answer 11

And a (similar sign was left) in (the story of) Aad when We sent upon them the wind that was barren (from any benefit).

Question 12

مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ ‎﴿٤٢﴾‏

Answer 12

It spared nothing it came upon but rendered it like a stuff smashed by decay.

Question 13

وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ‎﴿٤٣﴾

Answer 13

And a (similar sign was left) in (the story of) Thamud when it was said to them: ‘Enjoy yourselves for a while’.

Question 14

فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ‎﴿٤٤﴾

Answer 14

Then they rebelled against the command of your Lord, so the thunderbolt (of divine punishment) seized them whilst they were looking on.

Question 15

فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنتَصِرِينَ ‎﴿٤٥﴾

Answer 15

Then they were neither able to stand (before the punishment) nor could they defend themselves.

Question 16

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ ‎﴿٤٦﴾

Answer 16

And (We have destroyed) the people of Nuh (a.s.) even before. Indeed they were a sinful people.

Question 17

وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ ‎﴿٤٧﴾

Answer 17

And the sky was built by us with might and indeed We are The Expanders.

Question 18

وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ ‎﴿٤٨﴾

Answer 18

And The Earth was spread out by Us as a floor, so how well have We spread it out.

Question 19

وَمِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ‎﴿٤٩﴾

Answer 19

And for everything We have created pairs of two’s so that you may take heed.

Question 20

فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ‎﴿٥٠﴾‏

Answer 20

So flee towards Allah (s.w.t). Indeed I am a plain warner sent by Him (s.w.t) for you.

Question 21

وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ‎﴿٥١﴾‏

Answer 21

And do not make up any other God along with Allah (s.w.t). I am a plain warner sent by Him (s.w.t) for you

Question 22

كَذَٰلِكَ مَا أَتَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ‎﴿٥٢﴾‏

Answer 22

In a similar way, no messenger came to those people before them but they said: ‘He is a magician or madman’.

Question 23

أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ‎﴿٥٣﴾

Answer 23

Have they handed down (this saying) as a legacy? Rather, they are a rebellious people

Question 24

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَا أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ ‎﴿٥٤﴾‏

Answer 24

So turn away from them for you are not to be blamed.

Question 25

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ‎﴿٥٥﴾

Answer 25

And keep reminding because because reminding benefits the believers.

Question 26

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ‎﴿٥٦﴾

Answer 26

I (s.w.t) did not create the jinns and the human beings except for the purpose that they should worship Me (s.w.t)

Question 27

مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ ‎﴿٥٧﴾

Answer 27

I (s.w.t) do not want any sustenance from them nor do I (s.w.t) want them to feed Me (s.w.t).

Question 28

إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ ‎﴿٥٨﴾

Answer 28

In fact, Allah (s.w.t) He (s.w.t) is The Sustainer, Posessor of Power, The Strong.

Question 29

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ ‎﴿٥٩﴾

Answer 29

So those who did wrong will have their turn like the turn of their counterparts so they should not ask Me (s.w.t) to hasten on.

Question 30

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ‎﴿٦٠﴾‏

Answer 30

Woe then to those who disbelieve because of The Day of theirs that they are promised.
