Q

Explain the problems of under-population in Australia: (3)

A
  • Australia is a resource-rich nation, however demand is insufficient. This is because the population is so low so the country have nothing to do with all these resources that are not used by the population with no other choice but to export them.
  • Due to the population only being 25.8 million, Australia may have a lack of workers to develop their infrastructure. This is because even though the population are quite skilled, development will be very slow.
  • The business failure rate in Australia is 60%. This means that 60% of businesses in Australia will fail within the first 3 years of population. This may happen because they are under-used by the population as it is quite low so demand will also be low.
