What is conduct disorder? what types

A

childhood/adolescents<18
Conduct disorder is defined as repetive and persistant pattern of antisocial behavour which violates basic rights of others (>6m)
and that are not in line with age-appropriate social norms

Types (<10-ODD, >10- unsocialised CD, socialised CD, CD confined to famiy)
ODD=oposiotional defiant disorder (Mild CD-angry, defiant of autority)
unsocialised CD - signifficant abnormalities with relation with other peers
Socialised- well integrated into a group
CD confined to fam-duh

Aetiology –unkown
M>F 7-8% bits, 3-5% girls

RF -
low socioeceonomic status, deprived lviving, children in care system,
ADHD
susbtance misuse, male

Sx of conduct disorder

A
Repetitive and persisitant (>6m) pattern of dissocial, agressive, defiant
eg -execcise fighting or bullyinh
cruelty to people/animals
Severe destructivness of property
Fire-setting

More severe than ordinary child mischief/teenage rebellion
asbence of features suggest other things - ADHD

Ix and Mx of Conduct disorder

A

Ix -not really-
reports from parents, teacher, anyone
Development assessment

mx -
1st line is PARENT management training program - strong parental cooperation and motivation -if not move to 2nd line

2nd line - CHILD only/group interventions -focused on problem solving and anger management –but children rare are motivated

education teaching for missed school/alternative peer studies

prog–
50% develop antisocial personality disorder
Poorer prog if - early osnet, low IQ, Fhx criminal record, poor, poor parenting
