what is Hallux limitus/regidus?

• Reduced 1 MPJ of ROM due to exostoses or OA
• functional: present in WB in RCSP
• Structural: present in WB and NWB

Signs and symptoms?

Answer 2

• Deep aching pain aggravated by forefoot WB
• Reduced ROM stiffness
• Uncomfortable bump on 1st MPJ

Diagnosis?

Answer 3

• palpation on area, check both sides, feel for exostosis

- radiology- X-ray

Question 4

Treatment?

Answer 4

• Rocker sole shoes
• Orthoses with mortons extension (want stiffness)
• carbon plate cut out in footwear
• Surgery, last resort when less than 50 deg of DF
