Clinical examiniation

A

-Swelling bruising in area
-Pain of palpation
-active, passive, resisted movements
Functional movements
-Lunge test
-single leg stance
-Hop
Ankle sprain tests
-Anterior drawer test
Syndesmosis tests
-Squeeze test
Radiological
-X-ray if bone tenderness, base of 5th met, navicular pain or inability to WB
-MRI and CT scan

Treatment

A
  • Early mobilisation
  • Ankle taping
  • ankle compression
  • NSAIDS
  • Icing
  • Rest with gradual return to activity
