118 NAMP Fundamentals Flashcards
(28 cards)
State the Objective of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
Achieve aviation material readiness and safety standards established by CNO and CNAF.
Describe the Organizational level of aviation maintenance
Performed by squadrons or units directly supporting flight operations; focuses on day-to-day upkeep to keep aircraft mission-ready.
Describe the Intermediate Level (I-Level) of aviation maintenance
Specialized maintenance that handle more complex repairs; reduces workload on O-level to keep aircraft operational without sending them to Depot.
Describe the Depot level of aviation maintenance
Long term overhaul, rebuilding, or upgrading of aircraft.
State the basic responsibilities of Maintenance/Production Control
Planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance.
Prioritizing Workload.
Releasing aircraft and equipment ready for flight.
Discuss the purpose of a Daily Inspection
Good for 72 hours, 24 hours (from takeoff) once flown.
Discuss the purpose of a Turnaround Inspection
Aircraft inspection conducted between flights. Inspection is valid for 24 hours and is considered expired when “weight-off-wheels”.
Discuss the purpose of a Special Inspection
Maintenance scheduled at prescribed intervals. “Reoccuring” Maintenance.
Discuss the purpose of a Conditional Inspection
Un-scheduled maintenance conducted when certain conditions are met (hard landing, bird strike, etc.).
Discuss the purpose of a Phase/ISIS Inspection
Maintenance requirements divided into smaller packages (E6-B has 4).
State the purpose of the Functional Check Flight (FCF)
FCFs are conducted when it is not feasible or possible to determine safe/required functioning by means of ground checks.
State the purpose of the Aircraft Discrepancy Book (ADB)
Provides Aircrew with accurate, comprehensive, and chronological record and maintenance preformed over last 10 flights.
State the purpose of the Aircraft Log Book
Records the aircraft’s condition, date of inspections, time on airframe, and engines.
State who is authorized to release an aircraft safe for flight
Personnel designated in writing by the CO (Maintenance control , aircraft commanders, etc.).
Discuss the Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC’s)
Contains instructions necessary to perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
Define the concept of Quality Assurance (QA)
The prevention of the occurrence of defects.
Explain the responsibilities of the QAR
Ensuring the quality and safety of maintenance activities, adhering to the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) standards, and preventing defects.
Explain the responsibilities of the CDQAR
Supplement QA when needed to perform QAR level inspections while being assigned to the production work centers.
Explain the responsibilities of the CDI
Inspect all work and comply with the required QA inspections during all maintenance actions performed by their production work center.
Discuss the elements of a successful FOD Program
- Strict accounting for tools and equipment used in maintenance, thorough post maintenance cleaning.
- Inspection of work performed and work areas.
- Pre-Op inspections of engine inlets and flight control areas, and conduct periodic FOD walkdowns.
State the primary objective of the Tool Control Program
Establishes minimum requirements for controlling tools used by Navy O-Level and I-Level performing maintenance on naval aviation aircraft, engines, components, and equipment.
Explain the procedures for a Missing Tool Report
Worker
1. Stop all work and immediately notify supervisor (Worker)
Supervisor
2. Immediately notify MX control, include what was being worked on, what jet, and what tool (Supervisor)
3. Conduct a thorough search of work area (Supervisor)
Maintenance Control
4. Verbally notify MO or AMO, and QA that a tool is missing (MX Control)
5. Quarantine Aircraft and initiate a downing MAF for Aircraft (MX Control)
6. Fill in Missing Tool report (MX Control)
Quality Assurance
7. Immediately assign QAR to investigate missing tool (QA)
8. Wether tool is found or not, QAR will fill in report and sign off MAF with “Missing tool investigation completed. Tool found/Not Found.” (QA)
9. If tool is NOT found, QAR will take report to MO for further reccomendations (QA)
Maintenance Officer
10. MO will release Aircraft safe-for-flight if they believe it does not pose a FOD hazard (MO)
11. MO will brief CO on report (MO)
Discuss the Fuel Surveillance Program
Established minimum requirements for sampling fuel and inspecting FOD in fuel cells.
Discuss the security considerations that apply to an individual’s NALCOMIS login and password
Keep it private.
