Chest examination
What might some patients with acute bronchitis present with?
Low-grade fever
Wheeze
How is acute bronchitis diagnosed?
Clinically
What might indicate the need for antibiotics in someone with acute bronchtis?
Systemically very unwell
Pre-existing co-morbidities
CRP of 20-100mg/L
What is the management for acute bronchitis in the majority of patients?
analgesia
good fluid intake
What is the first line antibiotic for acute bronchitis?
Doxycycline
Who can not be given doxycycline?
children or pregnant women
What is an alternative to doxycycline?
Amoxicillin
