What does the term monogenic describe?
One gene contributing to phenotype
What does the term polygenic describe?
Multiple genes interacting to produce a phenotype
What is a dominant allele?
An allele that expressed itself at the expense of an alternate allele; phenotype expressed in F1 generation from cross of 2 pure lines
What is a recessive allele?
An allele whose expression is suppressed in presence of a dominant allele; will disappear from cross of two pure line and reappear in F2 generation
