Q

What is the 4-stage stress process?

A

The 4-stage stress process starts with the demands. Stage 2 is the perception of the demand by the athlete which leads to an increase of arousal levels. Then stage 4 is the outcome which relates to the perception of the demand in stage 2. If the athlete followed a positive perception, the athlete would experience increased performance and vice versa for negative.
