standard operating procedures, these are written instructions that detail how a routine task is to be carried out by who, how and when

A
When organisation are responsible for improving quality of service and maintaining high levels of care to reduce risk and harm to patients

What are the benefits of of SOPs
A
- standardisation of processes so different people can work together anywhere and all reach the same outcome
- maintain consistency
- improves quality assurance and safety

What is a downfall of SOP
A
Removes autonomy to a degree and doesn’t take into account events in which aren’t outlined by the SOP.
