What is the purpose of CP?
To provide a fixed point at which acceptance for the project product is confirmed
To recognise that objectives set out in the original project initiation documentation have been achieved
Or to recognise that any approved changes to these objectives have been achieved
Recognise that the project has nothing more to contribute
What are the objectives of CP?
1) Verify that the users have accepted the projects product
2) Ensure host site is able to support the products once the project is closed (BAU)
3) review project performance against baseline
4) Asses any benefits that have already been realised - Update the benefits management approach (to include benefits reviews after the project has closed)
5) To ensure that follow on action recommendations have beeb made Tod eat with any open issues and risks (Risks associated with the use of the product OR change which was deferred until after the project was completed)
CP provides us with an opportunity to:
1) Recognise that the objectives have been met
2) Make sure everyone knows the project has finished
3) Make sure that BAU takes over
4) Disband the team
5) Make sure we do not continue to book time and cost to the project
Who notifies the customer that the project is closed?

1) Prepare planned closure - OM considers has the acceptance criteria been met and can we hand over the projects products.
2) Prepare premature closer -Anything salved has been and anything remains to be done is adequately recorded
3) Hand over products to the customer - operational environment and plans are in place to realise beneiofts
4) Evaluate the project, against the PID - Creating End project report and Lessons report
5) Recommended project closure activity
