what is the AGHE?

A

IT IS A VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF GUIDELINE 2 + 3
It is a visual representation of the ADG, but without serving sizes etc
Known as ‘The Plate’ model and shows the proportions that the five different food groups should be consumed in.

EG grain foods, mostly whole grain and cereals, is the largest section, so therefore should be eaten the most, along with vegetables, legumes/beans.

what does the AGHE show?

A

It shows foods that are energy dense and that should be consumed ‘only sometimes and in small amounts’- these are included at the bottom of the picture outside of the ‘plate’ (ADG 3).

It shows monounsaturated fats and oils that should be consumed ‘in small amounts’
