1
Q

What is a rotation

A

Movement of the longitudinal axis of a bone

2
Q

What is circumdunction

A

Using a common fulcrum (alex) for all movements as in circumscribing a cone (for exemple the 360 of the thumb )

3
Q

What is medial rotation

A

The anterior aspect of extremity turned inward along it’s longitudinal axis ( for exemple: feet in, rotation of hip)

4
Q

What is the lateral rotation?

A

The anterior aspect of the extremity is turned outward along it’s longitudinal axis ( for exemple : feet out, rotation of hip)

5
Q

What is an upward rotation

A

Referring to the scapula when the inferior angle moves laterally and up

6
Q

Wht is a downward rotation

A

Referring to the scapula when the inferior angle moves medially and down

7
Q

What is a depression

A

Lowering a body oart

8
Q

What is an elevation

A

Raising a body part

9
Q

What is a horizontal abduction (horizontal extension)

A

Moving from the midline of the body on the horizontal plane

10
Q

What is a retraction

A

The movement of the part backward

11
Q

What is a protaction

A

The movement of a part forward

12
Q

What is an inversion

A

The rotation of the sole of the foot inward

13
Q

What is an eversion

A

The rotation of the sole of the foot outward

14
Q

What is the dorsiflexion

A

Flexing the ankle to raise the toes upwards

15
Q

What is plantarflexion

A

The flexion of the ankle to point the toes

16
Q

What is a pronation

A

The medial rotation of the forearm on the longitudinal axis

17
Q

What is supination

A

The lateral rotation of the forearm on the longitudinal axis

18
Q

What is pronation of the foot

A

The ankle version, dorsi-flexion and the forefoot abduction

19
Q

What is the supination of the foot

A

The ankle inversion, plantar-flexion and forefoot adduction

20
Q

What is prone

A

Lying horizontal in a face-down position

21
Q

What is supine

A

Lying horizontal on the back facing up
