A

H1 (Histamine) R and muscarinic ACh antagonist ->inhibits communication from the chemoreceptor trigger zone (which recognizes emetic toxins) to the vomiting center of the brain

  • Potentiates CNS depressant effect of narcotics, sedatives/hypnotics, and EtOH
  • Increased incidence of dystonia with concurrnet use of MAOI
