ID ATF FIREARMS PROFICIENCY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS.

A

Agents are authorized to carry only Bureau issued FA and ammo while on duty
-Primary FA is the Glock 22 with light, must be carried during law enforcement activities

Auxiliary FA = May be carried while on duty,
not to be carried during law enforcement activities,
May be carried as a Back up on duty
May be carried in lieu of primary pistol off duty

  • Primary or auxiliary FA may be cried during U/C ops
  • UC firearm may be issued w/SAC RAC approval

ID ATF POLICY REGARDING THE USE OF FORCE.

A
  1. 2A = Based on Objectively Reasonable standard
    - The degree of force authorized is limited to that which is necessary to establish lawful order and control in a timely manner.
    - Any force expected to cause death or serious physical injury
    - Not Included force not intended to cause death or serious physical injury, but dose
    - May use deadly force = only when necessary, when LEO has (reasonable belief) subject pose an (imminent danger) of death or serous physical injury to the LEO or another person.
    - Primary and timely and effective application to maintain or establish lawful control, preserve life, prevent serious injury.
    - Based on totality of circumstances known at the time.

ID ATF POLICY FOR FIREARMS ACCOUNTABILITY AND STORAGE.

A

Safety is paramount, SA is responsible for safety, storing, maintaining, FA

  • Safe and proper storage must not be taken granted
  • Theft/loss reported to RAC/GS immediately
  • FA is best on you
  • GOV in truck, lockbox, temp storage only
  • handguns may not be in between shifts, not in airport parking lot or remote parking (park and ride)
  • Temp lodging: Various Considerations Extended Absence

ID ATF POLICY WHEN CARING A FIREARM ABOARD COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT.

A

-You are on duty when you are traveling, it is not in policy, if flying over seas no gun

1 Pre Flight Check in = early arrival 1 hr
2 Go find a person ID your self
3 fill out paperwork with the airline
4 TSA discreetly ask where to go,
5 TSA fill out paperwork, credentials 2nd ID number
6 U Fan number call JSOC if you dont know then ur in, u are bags will not get searched.

-UR ID meet FAA requirements
18883675762 = JSOC will give you ur new UFan number
- if you have problems ask for = Ground Security Coordinator (GSC)
-They have not requirements for you to ride the plan
-Pilot are In Flight Security Coordinator has final authority on aircraft.

  • 3 copies of the paperwork and will let you pre board the flight
  • meet pilot and cops on plan and flight attendant
