  • Hypothalmic/pituiarty (low FSH); Hyperandrogenism (low FSH); hypergonadotropic hypogonadism (high FSH)
  • Symptoms specific to underlying cause
  • FSH, LH, prolactin, T, TSH, T4, hCG

  • Hypothalmic/pituiarty (low FSH); Hyperandrogenism (low FSH); hypergonadotropic hypogonadism (high FSH)
  • FSH, LH, prolactin, T, TSH, T4, hCG
  • Tx underlying cause, can use estrogen replacement

  • Terminal episode of menses (12mos), (48-55yrs)
  • Hot flashes, fatigue, insomnia, HA, decreased libido, irritablity, vaginal dryness, increased osteoporosis risk
  • FSH, Estradiol
  • HRT for short period is ok, but long term=negative cardiovascular risks

  • Short stature (normal GH), primary amenhorrhea, webbed neck, Renal abnormalities, hypogonadism
  • Increased FSH and LH
  • GH given prior to epiphyseal closure; estrogen/progesterone in adulthood
