pride
believing one is better than others, often resulting in devising or disrespecting other people
scrutinies
rituals for the elect that are meant to “uncover, then heal, all that is weak, or defective, or sinful in the heart of the elect;” celebrated on the third, fourth, and fifth Sundays in Lent
sin
any deliberate offense against the will of God, wounds human nature and injures solidarity, Bible reveals it as rebellion against God, missing the goal of life, and trespassing against God’s law
