Who is Cobbet and why was he important?
He’s the son of a farmer, self-educated. Learned the standard English grammar. He thought it was important. He helped the ordinary working people to have the access to English grammar by writing the book. It was an act of class warfare, since government tried making illiterate people seem like idiots with low morals, to protect themselves, so they would be safe from criticism and movements.
