OPER - 1.1.1 - IF Colling Tower Pump Tripped
START one of the following Standby Cooling Water Pumps:
- 635P3701
- 635P3702
- 635P3703
- 635P3704

OPER - 1.1.2 - Loss of Cooling Tower Pump due to loss of prime, perform the following:

OPER - A - USE local switch or hand wheel to open the 30” MOV discharge valve to ~30% on applicable pump

OPER - B - ENSURE the 3/4” valve on top of the pump is closed

OPER - C - OPEN the 1/2” Raw Water valve to the flush inboard and outboard packing glands.

OPER - D - PRIME pump by performing the following:
1 - OPEN 2” (2) 125 valves between the pump casing
and steam eductor
2 - OPEN 1 1/2” (2) 125 psig steam valves to the steam
eductors

OPER - E - ONCE the pump has been primed,
START applicable pump motor using the ‘START/STOP’ switch in the Swithgear or outside Hand Switch

  • 635P3702 breaker is located in the 636 Switchgear Room

OPER - F - ONCE the pump is running,
OPEN the 3/4” top valve and CLOSE the 1/2” Raw Water valve to the seals

OPER - G - MONITOR the amps on the motor running to full working amps of 401. Make adjustments on discharge valve, if needed, to maintain amps within range

CCR - 1.1.3 - Loss of Cooling Tower Pumps due to Loss of steam

A - CONTACT utilities to determine how long the steam outage is expected to last

B - NOTIFY First Line Supervisor that the Cooling Tower will be out of service until steam is restored.
