Plantwide Loss of Hydrogen (008-EOP-5016) Flashcards

1
Q

CCR - 1.1.1. - NOTIFY the Plant Shift Superintendent (PSS) of a Loss of Hydrogen.

A

Q

PSS/CCR - 1.1.3. - BEGIN cutting the following feed rates on 634 and 636 based on evaluations:

  • Divert 536 HGO to Tank
  • Divert 537 MVGO to Tank
  • Divert 537 HVGO to Tank
  • Divert 736 CHGO Tank
  • Divert 737 CHGO to Tank
A

CCR/OPER - 1.1.4. - PLACE 634 and/or 636 on partial circulation

i - (After feed rates are cut it usually takes ~30-45 minutes for the H2 consumption to go down.)

Q

CCR/OPER - 1.1.5. - If the loss of H2 requires more drastic measures,
PERFORM the following on the Heavy HDS units to “buy” time:

  • REDUCE unit pressures on 633, 634, 635, 636.
  • REDUCE WABT on 634 and 636
  • ENSURE that purges on all units are minimized.
  • IF there is a complete loss of Channelview (CVO) H2, OPEN the bypass around 38PV0021, Hydrogen from CVO to backflow the Plant H2 header to 533, 630, 631, 632 to prevent these units from having to be shutdown.
A

PSS/CCR/OPER - 1.1.6. If further rate reductions are needed
PERFORM any of the follwoing options:

  • PLACE 634 on full circulation or begin shut down process.
  • REDUCE Diesel treater rates on 635 and 633, place 633 and/or 635 on partial circulation as necessary and cut the following feeds to tank based on evaluations.
  • 536 HVGO
  • 537 MVGO
  • 537 HVGO
  • 736 CHGO
  • 737 CHGO

Q

PSS/CCR/OPER - 1.1.6. (continued)

  • IF there is a total Loss of Hydrogen,
REDUCE Crude rate to manage Diesel/VGO production.
  • 536 Diesel
  • 537 Diesel
  • 537 LVGO
  • 536 LVGO
  • IF H2 can’t be reestablished,
    PERFORM the following:
    - PROTECT the compressors if a
    shutdown is required.
    - KEEP Diesel range streams routed to
treaters and go feed to product
    100/609 Tank as needed.
  • REDUCE Coker rates to manage CLGO.
    • 736 CLGO
    • 737 CLGO
  • SHUTDOWN 630, 631, 632, 637 and 736 as directed by PSS.
