Describe the life cycle of Tabanus spp

A

After blood meal, female lays several hundred eggs in muddy or marshy areas, on vegetation and stones.

Eggs hatch in 1-2 weeks to sluggish larvae. Develop in 3 months-3 years.

Adult fly emerges from pupae in 1-3 weeks.

Complete life cycle is 4-5 months or longer
