Where does the APU get its fuel?
- AC power AVAIL: Main tank 2, Pump 2 AFTAC power not AVAIL: DC pump in Main tank 2
How can I tell if the APU is running?
- EICAS status msg “APU RUNNING”- APU GEN “AVAIL” light- Line of APU info on STAT page
Can I start the APU in flight?
No
Can the APU be operated in flight?
Yes (pneumatics up to 15,000ft)
Can I use the APU generators in flight?
No
What does the APU gen AVAIL light indicate?
APU generator power is acceptable
With #1 and #2 APU AVAIL light illuminated, what bus is being powered?
1- Ground Handling Bus#2- Main Deck Cargo Handling Bus
What are some of the items on the Ground Handling Bus?
- Lower Cargo Handling and Lights - Fueling System- Aux. HYD pump 4
On the secondary EICAS check, what quantities are you looking for?
HYDs- .80O2- 1200APU Oil- .55Eng. Oil- 16 qts
When will the APU automatically shut down?
whenever a parameter is exceeded
APU RUNNING (white status)
APU is at normal speed(You can push the STAT button to get APU operational performance on EICAS secondary)
How many packs can be on during engine start?
1 pack
What is the config for an APU to pack takeoff?
Packs 1/3 offAPU bleed onPack 2 on
Is it necessary to close the APU bleed valve before shutting down the APU?
No, it’s automatic. 2 min for APU fuel valve, inlet door and bleed air to close and cool down before turning batt off

-APU auto shutdown - APU N1 RPM >95% with APU switch in off.If message is no longer displayed after turning APU off, you may restart. If not, no restart.
