A

12 week course of topical combination therapy
- topical adapalene with topical benzoyl peroxide
- topical tretinoin with topical clindamycin
- topical benzoyl peroxide with topical clindamycin
can use benzoyl peroxide as monotherapy

management of moderate-severe acne

A

12 week course of
- combination: topical adapalene with topical benzoyl peroxide
- combination: topical tretinoin with topical clindamycin
- combination: topical adapalene with topical benzoyl peroxide + oral lymecycline or doxy
- topical azelaic acid + oral lymecycline or doxy
COCP as alternative to oral abx

when to refer patient to dermatologist

A

acne conglobate acne
consider referral:
- mild to moderate acne not responded to two complete courses of treatment
- moderate to severe acne not responded to previous treatment including oral abx
- acne scarring
- acne with persistent pigmentary changes
- acne causing psychological distress
