Viral: Rhinovirus, RSV
Bacterial : H. Infleunza, strept pneumonia, Moraxella
Complications of acute RHINOSINUSITIS
Intracranial: meningitis, abscess, cavernous sinus thrombosis
Extracranial:
Elective: osteomyelitis, preseptal cellulitis
Emergency : orbital abscess or cellulitis
Treatment of mild acute RHINOSINUSITIS for less than 5 days
Nasal decongestant :xylometazine or pseudoephedrine
Treatment of acute RHINOSINUSITIS for more than 10 days
Topical intranasal steroids
Treatment of severe acute RHINOSINUSITIS
Topical intranasal steroids and
Broad spectrum AB :amoxicillin for 7 Days
