1. Pedestal and basket railings , basket gates and locks
2. Welds at base of basket riser to stang waterway
3. Condition of safety belts
4. Intercom
5. TL basket should remain relatively level
Check leveling pistons and lube brass bushings if necessary with Wd-40
6. Visual check hydraulic lines
7. Check boom cradle for defects and lower limit switch
8. Check for presence of clip that holds in steel rod on each boom section( minus last sliding section)
Note also check for presence and tightness of six skid plate bolts located at the end of each boom section on both sides of boom tighten as necessary


Aerial ladder additional daily maintenance

Inspect lAdder for damage rails and rungs
Check ladder slide wear blocks
Visual check of hydraulic lines to main reservoir


Weekly apparatus maintenance includes

Tire maintenance
Transmission fluid
Power steering fluid
Air cleaner
Electric fuel pump primer
Tower ladder emergency system and hydraulic system
Aerial ladder emergency system and hydraulic system


When checking transmission fluid weekly you should engine on or off

Warm and running


Electrical fuel pump primer should be operated weekly for how many seconds with ignition on and apparatus running or not running

5 seconds with engine not running but ignition on
Listen for fuel primer motor


When testing the emergency systems for the TL and aerials they should be tested weekly for a maximum of ____ seconds
