Internal iliac artery beginning, course, and end

A
  1. Begins in front of sacroiliac joint at lumbosacral disc level, as smaller of common iliac artery 2 terminal branches
  2. Passes downwards & backwards along posterior part of pelvis lateral wall
  3. Ends opposite greater sciatic foramen upper margin by dividing into anterior and posterior divisions
