Battle casualties (BC)
A
are those personnel who has sustained injuries or KIA against en forces or whilst repelling en grnd or air Attk.

Categories of BC
A
- KIA.
- Died of wounds and injuries (other than self inflicted).
- Wounded or injured (other than self inflicted).
- Missing/LOB (Left out in Battle).
- Accidental injuries sustained in action or in the proximity of the en.
- ” ” caused by fixed apparatus/measures taken for defense against the en.

Salient features of BC Reports
A
- It is sent daily.
- It is sent in written form or in msg.
- All units have to send it to DIV HQ with a copy to Bde HQ.
- Nil reports are not sent.
- Sy classification-“CONFIDENTIAL” is given to all BC reports

Purposes of BC.
A
- To keep cdrs informed of wastage of their fmns.
- To keep records of casualty statistics and plan ahead for rfts.
- To enable cdr to anticipate the unit demand for rft. However, it is not a demand for rft.
