Categories of BC

A
  1. KIA.
  2. Died of wounds and injuries (other than self inflicted).
  3. Wounded or injured (other than self inflicted).
  4. Missing/LOB (Left out in Battle).
  5. Accidental injuries sustained in action or in the proximity of the en.
  6. ” ” caused by fixed apparatus/measures taken for defense against the en.

Salient features of BC Reports

A
  1. It is sent daily.
  2. It is sent in written form or in msg.
  3. All units have to send it to DIV HQ with a copy to Bde HQ.
  4. Nil reports are not sent.
  5. Sy classification-“CONFIDENTIAL” is given to all BC reports

Purposes of BC.

A
  1. To keep cdrs informed of wastage of their fmns.
  2. To keep records of casualty statistics and plan ahead for rfts.
  3. To enable cdr to anticipate the unit demand for rft. However, it is not a demand for rft.
