Binomial testing Flashcards

Q

Steps for hypothesis testing (binomial)

A
  • State null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis
    (H₀ : p = k
    H₁ : p > k or p < k or p!= k)
  • Assume H₀ (X~B(n, k)
  • Find probability in question, and going more ‘extreme’ ex. if value =1 test for x<=1
  • if P < α = reject H₀
  • if P > α = no evidence to reject H₀

Q

When to accept/reject H₀ in binomial hypothesis testing

A

If the p value too low, reject that H₀
|
* if P < α = reject H₀
* if P > α = no evidence to reject H₀
