Bio (regular) evolution Flashcards

1
Q

example of sexual selection

A

Trinidadian guppies, upstream there is only one predator, so they are very colour full (sexual selection outweighs natural selection), downstream males have multiple predators so they’re less colourful (natural selection outweighs sexual selection).

Q

important thing to note about artificial selection

A

while you selection one particular trait, you inadvertently affect multiple other traits as traits are controlled by multiple genes.
