What is the difference between a threatened, inevitable and complete miscarriage
Threathened- Os closed
Inevitable- Os open
Complete- Products in vagina
Treatment of miscarriage?
Conserative
Medical
MVA
Surgical
Common sites of ectopic?
Fallopian, ovary, peritoneum, CS scar, organs
Presentation of ectopic?
Pain
Bleeding
Dizzy/collapse/shoudler tip pain, SOB
Pallor
Haemo unstable
Signs of peritonism
Guarding and tender
Management of ectopic pregnancy?
surgical if acutely unwell
Medical if stable, low bHCG and small and unrupture
Conservative can be considered in the well patient
What is a complete mole?
Egg without DNA- 1 or 2 sperm fertilise
What is a partial mole?
Haploid egg
1 sperm or 2 fertilise egg resulting in triploidy
Management of molar pregnancy?
Surgical and tissue for histology
What is implantation bleeding?
Fertilised egg implants into uterine wall–> occasionally mistaken as period
What is chorionic haematoma?
Pooling of blood between endometrium and embryo due to separatini
Symptoms of chorionic haematoma?
Bleeding, cramping, threatened miscarriage
Cervical causes of bleeding?
Ectopic

Vaginal causes of bleeding?
Trichomoniasis
