Stimulates intracellular adenyl cyclase catalyzing conversion of ATP to cAMP producing relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle and inhibition of release of meditators of immediate hypersensitivity from mast cells

A
Prevention and reversal of bronchospasm in patients >12 yrs with asthma and reversible bronchospasm associated with bronchitis and emphysema

Pts < 12 yrs of age
Allergy

0.25 mg SQ
May repeat within 15-30 min if no improvement
Max of 0.5mg/4hrs
