Q

why do we vaccinate so often in first few months?

A

titer (measure of # of antibodies)
if pup is too young and still has antibodies from mother, titer is too high, vaccines won’t be effective
once passive immunity is gone, vaccines will be effective
not all pups get the same amount of antibodies, which is why they are all vaccinated multiple times so that at least one will be effective
