are carbohydrates a macronutrient or micronutrient?why?
a macronutrient because you should use carbohydrates as the bulk of your diet, hence you need more than very small quantities like micronutrients.
what is carbohydrates main function?
it is the preferred fuel source, as carbohydrates are broken down to glucose, which is then stored for use.
why is over consumption of carbohydrates bad for your health?
eating too much carbohydrates can be decrease health and wellbeing because if the fuel that was stored for use isn’t burned, it becomes stored as fat, increasing the risk of obesity, diabetes and other diet related diseases.

most vegetables, rice, bread, pasta, cereals, oranges, grapes, bananas.

what does fibre do?
it is required for optimal health and wellbeing, fibre is not absorbed through the body it acts as a cleaner moving through the body and aids digestive health, decreasing the risk of constipation, as it absorbs water and adds bulk to the faeces. Fibre also helps reduce cholesterol and provides feeling of fullness, decreasing overeating and hence obesity.

bran, wholemeal bread, grains, seeds, fruit and vegetables.

a chain of chemical reactions that takes place in the body’s cells converting fuel into energy.
