nerve cells (neurones) and glia cells

A
the cerebrum, cereal cortex, cerebellum, medulla oblongata and the spinal chord

What is the function of the cerebrum ?
A
It’s the front part of the brain that controls:
- movement
- coordination of movement
- temperature
- touch
- vision
- hearing
- judgement and reasoning
- problem solving
- emotions
- learning

What are the cerebral hemispheres and their functions ?
A
The cerebral hemispheres are just the 2 sides of the cerebrum. The left side is responsible for language and speech (more dominant hemisphere) whilst the right side interprets visual info and processes things.

What is the cerebral cortex and its functions?
A
It’s the thin layer of the cerebrum that’s responsible for attention, perception, awareness, thought, memory, language and consciousness.
