What are ports?
sometimes called an interface, an external plug - in socket on a computing device
Used to connect external devices such as printers, modems, and routers to a computer
What are legacy ports?
Ports that are rarely in use anymore

a general purpose port used by many different devices
Can be connected and disconnected while the computer is running
