Characteristics of non verbals
-more emotion based: how we interpret based on feelings that thoughts
-more believable: nonverbal more believable over verbal when they conflict because of emotional connection
-culturally dependent meanings: smiles are culture to culture - present ourselves in a certain way

Psychological - emotion/feeling Strong sensory connection - skin sensitive to touch - aware of touch - power of tough - emotional component - used effectively could enhance persuasiveness
Intimate - 0-18"
Personal - 18"-4' interpersonal communication
Social - 4'-12'
Public- near 12'
Time - culturally influenced - promptness - positive. Late - negative.
Accessories/material/clothing- tattoos, piercings and perfume - contextually driven
