What is management
Set of activities designed to achieve an organizations objectives by using its resources efficiently and effectively

What are managers
Individuals who make decisions about the use of the organizations resources and are concerned with planning organizing leading and controlling the activities to reach its objectives
What are organizations
Groups of individuals who work together to achieve the goals that are important to these individuals
What are resources
People equipment finances and data used by an organization to reach its objectives
What is a stakeholder
A person or group that can affect or is affected by an organizations goals
What is planning
Determining what the organization will specifically accomplished and deciding how to accomplish these goals
What is organizing
Assigning responsibility to employees for task achievement to collaboratively achieve goals
What is leading
Influencing others activities to achieve set goals
What is controlling
Monitoring and evaluating and maintaining desired performance
What are informational roles
Activities that focus on data important for the decisions the manager needs to make

What are interpersonal roles
Activities that involve interacting with others who may be external or internal to the organization at a higher or lower level than the manager
What are decisional roles
Activities that deal primarily with the allocation of resources to reach organizational goals
What are interpersonal skills
Skills such as communication listening conflict resolution and reading that are necessary to work with others
What are technical skills
The knowledge and ability to accomplish the specialized activities of the work group
What are conceptual skills
The intellectual abilities to process information and make accurate decisions about the work group in the job tasks
What are upper managers
Managers to spend most of the time planning on leaving because they make decisions about the overall performance
What are middle managers
Managers who receive broad statements of strategy from upper-level managers and develop specific objectives
First-line managers
Managers concerned with the direct production of items or delivery of service
Human resource managers
Manager is concerned with developing in caring out systems that are used to make decisions about employees
Marketing managers
Managers who develop marketing strategies and make decisions about how to implement the strategies
What are finance managers
Managers to focus on obtaining the money needed for the successful operation of the organization
Production and operations managers
Managers for schedule and monitor the work process that turns out the goods or services in organization
