Chapter 1 : Evidenced based practice Flashcards
(8 cards)
Subjective data
what the person says during history taking
Objective data-
what you as the health professional observe by inspecting, percussing, palpating, and auscultating during the physical examination
Evidence-based practice (EBP)
The conviction that all patients deserve to be treated with the most current and best-practice techniques
What are the three types of reasoning?
Abductive, deductive, and inductive reasoning
Abductive Reasoning
Start with a best guess based on incomplete information—you’re making a hypothesis about what might be wrong.
Deductive Reasoning
Apply your knowledge of how the body works to narrow down possibilities, using what you know about physiology and diseases
Inductive Reasoning
Look at the specific signs and symptoms to confirm your diagnosis, building a clear picture from the details
The nursing process is a five-step process that includes
assessment(subjective and objective), diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
