Describe Epilepsy
a chronic neurological condition characterized by recurrent episodes of seizures of arying severity.
What is causalgia?
A persistent, severe burning pain that usually follows an injury to a sensory nerve
What is Hyperesthesia?
a condition of abnormal and excessive sensitivity to touch, pain, or other sensory stimuli
What is paresthesia?
refers to a burning or prickling sensation that is usually felt in the hands, arms, legs, or feet
What is an MRI
A machine that facilitate the examination of the soft tissue structures of the brain and spinal cord.
what is a carotid ultrasonography
An ultrasound study of the carotid artery.
What is a echoencephalography
The use of ultrasound imaging to create a detailed visual image of the brain for diagnostic purposes
What is an electroencephalography
the process of recording the electrical activity of the brain through the use of elecrodes attached to the scalp
What is myelography
a radiographic study of the spinal cord after injection of a contrast medium through a lumbar puncture
What is an anesthetic?
the medication used to induce anesthesia
What is a hypnotic
depresses the central nervous system and usually produces sleep.
What is generalized anxiety disorder?
characterized by chronic, excessive worrying.
What is OCD
characterized by recurrent obsessions (repetitive, intrusive, distressing thoughts or impulses) and/or compulsions (repeatedly feeling compelled to do things, like wash or pray)
What is panic disorder?
characterized by fear of panic attacks
