What does excretion mean?
getting rid of waste products
in mammals,where is carbon dioxide excreted from?
the lungs
How does plants excrete carbon dioxide?
through their stomata
What is a urea?
a waste product produced in the liver
How is urea removed from the blood?
by the kidneys
What does the kidneys also do?
remove excess water & ions from the blood
What is urine?
a solution of urea & other waste materials in water
What is a ureter?
1 of a pair of tubes that carries urine from the kidneys to the bladder
What is a urethra?
the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside
what does internal enviroment mean?
conditions inside the body
what does homeostasis mean?
the maintenance of a constant internal enviroment
what does homeostasis do?
helps keeping a constant temp
helps keeping a constant concentration of glucose
what is insulin?
decreases blood glucose concentration
