Nervous system
system of brain, spinal cord, and nerves. governs sensation, movement, and thought
Central nervous system
brain and spinal cord
peripheral nervous system
Nerves that enter and leave the spinal cord. Nerves that travel between brain and organs without passing through the spinal cord
motor nerves
send messages from brain to body
sensory nerves
send messages from body to brain
automatic nervous system
part of peripheral nervous system that controls involuntary functions. Has two subsystems Sympathetic NS & Parasympathetic NS
