Includes more than one independent variable. Allows multiple questions to be addressed in the same study.

Determines the total number of experimental conditions.

Refers to the overall effect of a single IV on your DV. # of possible main effects = # of IVs.

A
When the influence of one IV on the DV depends on the level of another IV. Depending on the interaction, your main effects may no longer be meaningful.
