Transient Ischemic attacks

A

Also called a mini stroke, occurs when a blockage is due to a small clot that melts within a few hours. Damage may be mild by cumulative after multiple transient ischemic attacks

Ischemic stroke

A

The most common form of strike, caused by a blood clot or blockage that forms in the brain (cerebral thrombosis) or a clot that travels to the brain (embolism)

Cryptogenic stroke

A

Cause unknown. May be related to a patent for amen ovale, an abnormal opening in the septum of the heart that allows blood clots into the brain.
