Q

explain the greenhouse effect and diagram

A

greenhouse gases trap heat in the earths atmosphere and keep it warm. the earth creates infrared radiation which is energy released back into space which is trapped in the ozone layer. this makes the earth warmer. too much causes global warming which is bad for the earth

sunlight — energy absorbed by land + water — infrared radiation—- energy trapped by greenhouse gases—- energy released back into space

Q

ice core analysis?

A

what’s happening now?
track how greenhouse gas levels and temperatures have changed over time, showing that carbon dioxide levels are now higher than at any point in the past 800,000 years.

what will happen in the future?
we’ll face more warming, ice melt, and extreme weather in the future.

why does it matter?
climate change affects our health, food, water, weather, and future safety—ice core data helps us understand the risks and prepare for what’s coming.
