Q

What is one way to study birds?

A

One way is to observe, research, and compare different birds wings, beaks, legs, tails and feet. This will help us understand how birds have developed special features that allow their species to survive in earth.

15
Q

Why did Darwin believe animals should change?

A

Q

How to birds know how to get back home after flying south?

A

Many birds are somehow aware of the north and south magnetic fields of the Earth. So, even at night, when they can’t see land, they know where to go.

17
Q

How are other ways to know their way home?

A

Many animals also remember the way places smell, and follow their noses home. During the day, some birds watch the position of the sun and at night they use the position of the stars.

18
Q

What happens when birds are released inside a Planetarium?

A

birds will change their positions. If the stars are rotated, the birds will rotate. Amazingly, the birds seem to watch for the North Star, just like human sailors do.

19
Q

What is a Planetarium?

A

A building that has stars projected on the ceiling like in the sky.
