What do you want to look for when doing chest compressions during CPR?
Full chest recoil!!
Pediatric CPR
Deliver compression if heart is less than 60 bpm with signs of hypoperfusion
Infant CPR
Use thumbs to perform compressions (two thumb- encircling hands technique)
Ventilations
For respiratory arrest or if intubated
Adults: 10 breaths/min (every 6 seconds)
Pediatric: 20-30 breaths/min (every 2-3 seconds)
What do you do if you witness cardiac arrest?
If an AED is available apply the AED IMMEDIATELY
What do you do if the cardiac arrest is unwittnessed?
-Check for a pulse
-2 min of CPR first
